Q. Is there a way to add a journal to our database?

Hello! I am currently working on a research paper and keep hitting a dead end. I find previews from a journal I really enjoy, JAMA- Journal of American Medical Association, but have noticed SCCC is not subscribed to this journal. I was wondering if there was a way to look into adding this journal to our database. I am currently working on being accepted into the nursing program at Suffolk so I feel this journal will help me in my future assignments.

Answer

Hi, Cara-

Recent issues of JAMA will be availble through the SCCC Library soon.  In the meantime, if you need to read an article in an issue to which we don't yet have access, please submit a request through Interlibrary Loan.  You can access Interlibrary Loan from the Library homepage under Services.

You can also work with a Reference Librarian to find alternatives through full text Library databases like Medline, CINAHL, Science Direct, and others

Please reply if you have other questions, or contact a Reference Librarian.
