Q. stories on drug addiction and the african american communitys

need cited articles on drug addiction and the African American communitys

Answer

To look for information about drug addiction and African American communities, you can do one of several things:

1) stop in at your campus library and talk to a librarian.

2) go to the library homepage, http://www.sunysuffolk.edu/library and

   >Advanced search (red font)

Enter "drug addiction" or "substance abuse" in the first search box.

Enter "African American" in the second search box.

Go to the left column and limit your search to

         "Full text" and

set the date range (such as 2010 - 2017) and

limit your search to magazines or "academic journals (for peer-reviewed articles.)

select a "subject" term if you like.

Click Search.  You may need to change your search parameters and search again.

When you find an article of interest, click on the title and read the abstract.  If this is a useful article, click "PDF" or "html" in the left column.

If the article is useful, go to the right column and click on the icon for "cite."

Select the appropriate citation style required by your instructor (possibly APA?)

Copy the citation under the word "References" and paste it into a Word document- alphabetical order by the last name of the author.

Type the word "References" at the top of the citation page,  Double space the citation page too.

3) The third option is also from the homepage of the library.  Go to "Research Guides" and select "Chemical Dependency Counseling" from the list.
