Q. Last year there was a trial of the Web of Science database. Is the library considering obtaining it sometime in the future? It is a great service

Answer

Hello,

Web of Science may be an option in the future.  In the meantime, we have SCOPUS.  It's similar in scope to WoS and includes a comparable set of backfiles.  ScienceDirect is another large, multidisciplinary database similar to WoS, but with more full text.

Here's the link to the list of SCCC Library databases where you can find them: http://libguides.sunysuffolk.edu/databaselist

SCOPUS and ScienceDirect content is also accessible from the Library homepage after clicking "Search All" above the search box: http://www.sunysuffolk.edu/Students/library.asp. (The "Articles" tab only searches EBSCO database content, so use "Search All" to find articles in other sources.)

Please let me know if you're looking for a specific publication or database coverage for a given topic/field.

Best,

Susan Wood
