Q. Do faculty and students have access to current online editions of New York Times, Wall Street Journal , The Atlantic or other newspapers,

Answer

Hello,

You can search for periodicals by title by visiting the Articles & Database page and selecting the tab labeled Periodicals List.

When the title appears in the Result List, you will be offered a selection of databases to which SCCC Libraries subscribe that offer either indexing or full text access (or both) to the title you searched for.

Specifically the titles that you asked about...

New York Times: historical access from 1851 to 2009 is available in the database called New York Times Historical Archive  Current issues are available in a variety of databases we subscribe to, including Academic OneFile.

Wall Street Journal is indexed back to 1992 and has full text acesss to 2014 in Business Insights Essentials

The Atlantic is available in Academic Search Complete from 1993 to present with a 15 day delay for the newest issues.

You can also search acrosss a wide variety of newspapers at the same time through a number of our newspaper databases, which you can browse here.

If you have any further questions or need help accessing or searching these databases, please let us know.  You can call the Reference Desk at any of the three campuses.  Phone numbers are here.
