How do I know if I have met all requirements to graduate?
Answer
You have accessed the library, but we can offer some guidance as to where to go for help with this.
Log into Degree Works with your student ID to go over your progress toward your degree. A counselor at the Counseling & Advising Center on your campus can help you in more detail and can connect you with an academic advisor who will review graduation requirements with you and answer any questions you have about your coursework.
- Students wishing to consult with a counselor or advisor can send an email to one of the Counseling email addresses below.
- counselinga@sunysuffolk.edu for the Ammerman Campus
- counselinge@sunysuffolk.edu for the Eastern Campus
- counselingg@sunysuffolk.edu for the Michael J. Grant Campus
- If the counselor determines that the conversation with you should continue over the phone, they will authenticate you by asking key identifying questions. You can then identify a time for discussion by phone.
- During your advisement session, you will be following the steps below:
- The counselor or advisor will advise you using Degree Works and Schedule Builder.
- Based on the review of your Degree Works audit, the counselor can add the recommended courses into your Schedule Builder page.
- View the courses the counselor is adding (once you refresh your browser).
- You can then work within your Schedule Builder tool to add breaks, select a schedule and, at the appropriate time, register for classes
- After registration, you should double-check your Degree Works audit again to be sure that course selections are correct (i.e., count in program and are financial aid eligible). Physical locations for these offices are below.
