Q. How Do I Access STAT!Ref?
STAT!Ref can be accessed from the Nursing Research Guide or via the link in the next paragraph. Look for the STAT!Ref Online box and use the link there. You will be prompted to authenticate with your MYSCCC ID and password when using STAT!Ref from off-campus.
Once in STAT!Ref, an alphabetical listing of titles is display on the left. You may also click on the Bookshelf link on the upper left to see a display of book covers. Click on a title to access the fulltext.
STAT!Ref provides eBook titles on a variety of health topics designed for 2 year nursing students including textbooks, dictionaries, handbooks, nursing videos, and more. STAT!Ref is the place to go for a copy of Nanda International, Inc. Nursing Diagnoses: Definitions & Classification 2015-2017 - 10th Ed. (2014).
STAT!Ref is also available as a mobile app. To download or see additional information visit the STAT!Ref Mobile Access page. In order to use the app you must visit the STAT!Ref website using a browser (not the app) to set up a My STAT!Ref account. Once you have set up an account, click on Temporary Login Account tab and click on the Activate button. You will now be able to log into STAT!Ref from the mobile app and access the collection. Your account will need to be reactivated in about six months.
** If you are unable to use the app, you probably need to reactivate your temporary login account. You must log into STAT!Ref using a browser to reactivate your ID.**
SUNY also has a subscription to STAT!Ref's Board Vitals, a board examination review tool, which provides students with access to NCLEX review questions with correct answers and rationales. You can customize your "exam" by including and excluding specific subject areas, choosing the number of questions, selecting exam type (review or timed), and question order (random or by rating). Both NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN subscriptions are available. Remember to use your SCCC email address when signing up for this service.
*Please note that certain features of STAT!Ref are only available through the website. For example, Stedman's Medical Dictionary, Nursing Podcasts, and BoardVitals are not available via the app.
