What is a DOI?

Answer

DOI stands for digital object identifier. Some journals create digital object identifiers for specific articles. If a DOI is provided it replaces the database name, URL, and retrieval date in an APA reference citation. Articles in .pdf format include the doi on the first page. Articles in .html format include the doi on the last page.
