What are citations?

Answer

Citations are used within the text and at the end of a research paper to show where you found the information being used in that paper.  Use an in-text citation in the body of your paper and conclude with a list of references or works cited that provides your reader with enough information to find that source for themselves (See the examples below).  Citations are used in research papers but must also be used for any project that requires outside sources for information.
